Who We Are
Camp Fridge Repair was born from real-world experience and a passion for the great outdoors. Founded by avid camper Johann Prinsloo, the business began after Johann encountered a common frustration prior to his overland adventure to Angola—his 12V portable fridge had broken down. With a strong technical background and a can-do attitude, Johann decided to tackle the problem himself. In doing so, he discovered a gap in the South African market: most services focused on replacing parts rather than repairing them.
After successfully restoring his own fridge, word spread quickly among fellow campers and outdoor enthusiasts. What started as a personal project soon evolved into a thriving business, as requests for fridge repairs grew rapidly. Since its inception in 2016, Camp Fridge Repair has serviced all major brands of 12V camping fridges and freezers as well as ice machinces, offering custom repair solutions that extend the life of valuable outdoor equipment.
Today, the company has expanded to include a dedicated team of skilled technicians and support staff. In 2023, Johann’s son, Marnus Prinsloo, joined the business and has since taken the lead, ensuring the company continues to grow while maintaining the hands-on, customer-focused ethos it was built on. Johann now enjoys the flexibility of semi-retirement, knowing that Camp Fridge Repair remains in capable hands.
